lie 4 degrees South and 55 degrees East. The months of May to October bring drier, cooler weather and livelier seas, particularly on the south-eastern coasts.
This Indian Ocean republic occupies a land area of 455 sq km and an Exclusive Economic Zone of 1.4 million sq km.
